Description
The Hylian Shield from the video game The Legend of Zelda is worn by Link (The Hero of Time). I recreated the shield from photographs and artist renderings of cosplay outfits.
I had to place the shield in the 'Other' portion of Artisan Crafts because it involved Metal Work, Wood Work, and Leatherwork. The handle is bound in leather, and the two crossing pieces of wood in the back qualify the shield as 'battle ready'. The designs on the front were all tediously shaped using vinyl and aluminum. The trim is also vinyl held in place by thumbtacks.
My materials were limited, but I believe it turned out quite well.
The Hylian Shield you see here was constructed in full scale over 2-3 weeks for Stephanie (~elvenvampire) for a Christmas present. As I recall, she likes it, lol.
I apologize for not posting a picture of it sooner, but I have been very busy.
